Tanzania General Election 2025 Results: Samia Suluhu Hassan Declared Winner

Election commission in the country Tanzania announced Samia Suluhu as the winner in the 2025 presidential election with 98% of the vote.

The result gives Suluhu a chance to continue with his presidency. He took the reins of the country for the first time in 2021 after his predecessor, John Pombe Magufuli, died.

How many votes did Samia Suluhu get?

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Suluhu, who contested on the Chama Cha Mapinduzi ticket, received a total of 31,913,866 votes.

The voting exercise was held on Wednesday, October 29, where important opposition figures were prevented from voting.

Since then, the country has been plunged into chaos after citizens protested.

Many were arrested, tearing down Samia posters and burning government buildings. The police retaliated by firing tear gas and bullets.
