How did Ominde get a job as a driver?
The 43-year-old man says he was removed Nakuru when he was in the caravan. The man shared that Raila told him that he wanted him to stay and then he started teaching him the job.
“He used to depend on me; there were many jobs he depended on me for. I always had to take his cars,” said Ominde.
In the 2008 Grand Coalition, Raila held the position of Minister of Roads, Public Works, and Housing; some officials pressured the new driver, but that did not happen because Raila told the President Mwai Kibaki and Francis Muthaura that they were together for a long time and he should stay.
As expected, there were difficult times, such as January 30, 2018.
“I drove from Karen to Uhuru Park, and we started our journey, finally sneaking into the City Hall,” said Ominde.
“The old man was telling me not to be afraid,” he added.
Ominde now works as a driver at the Government House.
