The newspaper reported on the fatal accident in Murang’a, which left six family members dead and others seriously injured. A police report showed that a car carrying several people from a village lost control and plunged into the Kiama River, Muranga County.
Six other passengers escaped with injuries and were rushed to hospital, police said of the incident early Sunday.
The victims were members of a family who were returning from a dowry ceremony in Nazareth in Kiambu County.
Among the dead were a husband and wife, police said. The accident happened at Wacengu Bridge on Kiama River on Sunday, October 26.

The publication reported details about the meeting of the Central Management Committee of the ODM party to be chaired by Senator Oburu Oginga.
The Siaya senator is expected to officially take over the leadership of the party following the death of his younger brother, Raila Odinga.
The meeting of the party’s main body is expected to lay the groundwork for the 2027 elections, and officials will also discuss how “rebels” will be dealt with.
Dennis Onyango, Raila’s former spokesman, dismissed reports that the meeting was to address a crisis in the party.
