Murang’a – At least six people have been confirmed dead following a fatal accident in Gatanga, Murang’a county.

The accident on Saturday, October 25 at night happened after the car lost its direction in the Wacengu Bridge and plunged into the Kiama River.
How many people died in the Murang’a accident?
The victims were members of a family who were returning from a dowry ceremony in Nazareth in Kiambu County.
According to the police report, among the dead were a husband and wife.
Six other people sustained injuries and were rushed to Kirwara Hospital and Murang’a Level 5 Hospital for treatment.
The pictures that TUKO.co.ke took a look at show the front of the white car completely submerged in the river.
Murang’a Senator Joe Nyutu issued a statement mourning the families who lost their loved ones in the accident.
In his condolence message, Nyutu said it was very sad that the accident happened a short distance from his home.
“My heart is full of sadness this afternoon. We are mourning with the people of Gatanga, Kariara County, following the fatal road accident at the Wacengu Bridge (Kiama River) along the Chomo Kihunyo road that caused six precious deaths last night. These were the sons and daughters of our people of the land who had spent a happy day celebrating love in a traditional wedding in Kiambu, but met their untimely death just a short distance from home.

“It is extremely painful, and as a society, we stand in solidarity with the bereaved families. May God give them strength, comfort, and peace that surpasses all understanding. Let us also continue to pray for the safety of all road users, and above all, let us make our county and our nation, Kenya as a whole, in prayer,” Nyutu said on Facebook.
How many people died in the Soysambu accident?
The fatal accident comes a few hours after the funeral journey ended in tragedy when six people died on the spot in an accident at Soysambu, along the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway.
The victims were traveling in a private car that collided with a bus.
The accident happened in the Soysambu area in Mbaruk, a place known for speeding and poor visibility during the morning hours.
A passenger car carrying six men collided with a Promise Company bus on its way Nakuru from Nairobi.
The car was traveling from Poisonous towards Nairobi after the passenger attends the funeral.
