The former prime minister died in India on October 15, and his body was returned to Kenya on October 16. His death caused a national mourning.

He had left a will that ordered that he be buried three days after his death, which left many conflicted about the short period of mourning.

His national funeral was attended by thousands at the grounds of the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology, who came to give him a fitting burial.

Did Albert Ojwang’s father visit Raila’s grave?

Meshack, who lost his only son, Albert, in June, after he died in police custody at the Nairobi Central Police Station, visited Raila’s grave.

He was accompanied by his wife and their grandson. At the grave, they looked emotional, looking at the final burial place of the fallen leader.

Albert’s mother also carried a large bouquet of flowers, which they placed on Raila’s grave, with Meshack directing her where to place it.

What happened to Albert?

In a separate report, Albert was reportedly arrested while having lunch with his family in Kabondo Kasipul, Homa Bay County.

According to reports, Albert was reportedly arrested by six officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) at his father’s house before being taken to Mawego Police Station.

While in custody, Albert reportedly called a friend to ask how it was to be in the police cell and if he was safe. However, his family and friends later learned of his death.

An autopsy report revealed that the popular blogger died from multiple injuries sustained after being physically assaulted, contradicting earlier claims that he hit his head against the wall of a police cell to death.
