Nairobi – Two officers of the Criminal Investigation Department have been arrested following a robbery case in the area of Kasarani.

According to the report filed at the Kasarani Police Station under OB 22/20/10/25, two officers are alleged to have robbed Peter Gilbert Karitu on the night of Sunday, October 19, at Mirema Park.

Three suspects with AK-47 guns are alleged to have assaulted the victim at 8.45pm while he was parking his car outside his residence.
The victim was forced into his home and ordered to open his safe, which contained passports and USD 16,000 (KSh 2,060,000) in cash.
“Peter Gilbert Karitu of Nakuru, the incident happened around 8:45 pm when he was parking his car outside his residence. He was confronted by three armed men believed to be carrying AK-47 rifles, who were driving a gray Subaru Forester registration number KDC 069E,” the report seen by TUKO.co.ke read.
After counting the money, the assailants escorted the victim to their car and left and abandoned him near the Jessekay hospital.
It is said that the victim took the bodaboda home and immediately filed a report at the Kasarani Police Station, prompting an immediate investigation by police officers. DCI from the station.

Following police investigation, two suspects identified as Corporal Mwalimu Said and Police Constable/Driver Kipkurui Bii were arrested.
Both suspects have been confirmed as Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) officers.

KSh 350,000 was found in the car, and KSh 123,000 was found on the suspects. The victim said he had given money to pay regular staff at the school.
