The veteran politician, aged 80, passed away in India after suffering a heart attack during his routine morning walk.
How did Kindiki, Ogamba congratulate Raila?
Since then, prominent leaders have continued to honor the fallen leader.
On Tuesday, October 21, the Deputy President Kithur Kindiki and Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba joined the list of those who shared heartfelt thanks.
Kindiki wrote in the book of mourning at the Palace:
“It was a great honor to know and interact with the Honorable former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. He was a close friend of my brother, Professor Isiah Kindiki. May the soul of our former prime minister rest in peace. Rest in peace old man.”
CS Ogamba also shared his condolence message, which drew attention online due to his handwriting:
“This is a great loss for the family, the country and the world in general. Raila Amollo Odinga was a great politician who contributed greatly to the decentralization of democracy in our country. We pray for his family. May his soul rest in peace.”

The tributes sparked a wave of condolence messages from Kenyans.

What you need to know about Raila’s death
Following the sad news of his death, plans for his burial along with wanting to be buried within 72 hours started immediately.
After his body arrived in Kenya on Thursday, October 16, thousands of Kenyans had the opportunity to pay their respects.
Raila was given a national funeral at Nyayo Stadium before being transported to Poisonous and later Bondo, where the last ceremony of his funeral was held.
On Sunday, October 19, a few minutes before 5 pm, he was buried in the family cemetery, Kang’o ka Jaramogi.
