UDA MP Tells William Ruto To Take ODM Leadership Before 2027 Elections: “It’s Time”

Nairobi – Politics concerning the future of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) seem to be more difficult following the death of Raila Amollo Odinga.

During Raila’s funeral in Bondo, President William Ruto he indicated the possibility of influencing the direction that the ODM party will take before the 2027 General Election.

What William Ruto Said About ODM Party

Ruto indicated the possibility of political cooperation between ODM and his party United Democratic Alliance (UDA) after insisting that the former prime minister’s party will be part of the next government.

The national leader said that, being one of the founders, he will not allow the Orange Party to fall.

“I know I am the leader of UDA, but the future, strength, and prosperity of ODM is very important to me. I promise that we will respect and support the party as we move towards 2027, form the next government or be part of it,” Ruto announced.

Now, Nyaribari Chache Member of Parliament Zaheer Jhanda wants the president to act quickly and take control of the ODM party.

Will William Ruto take the helm of ODM?

In a tweet on Monday, October 20, the MP emphasized that UDAODM, UDM, KANU and other friendly parties will form a coalition that will support Ruto’s re-election bid.

“For those who do not know or should know in advance, the joint candidate of UDA/ODM, Ford-K, UDM, KANU, and other coalition parties 2027-2032 is William Ruto, the president of the Republic of Kenya. It is time for President Ruto to officially take control of the ODM party and lead a joint ticket in 2027,” Jhanda said.

Jhanda, a close friend of the president, said that the era of ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna within the party is over.
The MP said that Ruto’s camp is developing a broad-based political movement that will rule the country until 2032.

“Edwin Sifuna’s era of representing things contrary to the truth within ODM is over. The party must return to truth, unity, and purpose. We continue a broad-based political movement until 2032,” he said.

Should Edwin Sifuna be removed from ODM?

Another news, Nandi senator Samson Cherargei he wanted the removal of Edwin Sifuna as secretary general of the ODM party.

In a tweet on Sunday, October 19, Cherargei said Sifuna should be removed from his position before the end of the year.

According to Cherargei, the Nigerian senator from Nairobi is a mole for the United Opposition within the ODM party.
