William Ruto Remembers The Difficult Time Winnie Odinga Asked Why Envoys Were Being Sent To Mumbai

Raila died in India on October 15 while receiving treatment, after collapsing during his morning walk.

What did Ruto and Winnie Odinga talk about?

On the same day, Ruto sent a special message to India to collect Raila’s body and bring it home.

In his memoirs, he said:

“In the evening after planning how to bring his body, Winnie called me. She told me, ‘Why doesn’t the plane that is coming to pick up Dad come to where he is? You are making me worry about putting him on the plane and I am tired. Even this matter is serious for me,’” he said.

Ruto said he tried to explain to Winnie that the plane was also carrying people who were heading to Mumbai.

“She couldn’t understand anything. So I called Ruth and told her to help Winnie, tell her to calm down, we are preparing things,” he added.

Later, Ruto received a message from Raila’s son, Raila Junior, informing him about his father’s will.

According to Junior, Raila wanted to be buried within 72 hours of his death, and the family lawyer was the one bringing the will.

Does Ruth have children?

Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported about Ruth Odinga after she publicly introduced her adult sons.

He revealed that his first child was named after the West African leader, Sankara, while the second was named Nyabola in memory of his late brother.
