A family in Nairobi has plunged into grief following the death of their son known as Vincent Otieno.

Otieno left home early on Thursday, October 16, to join a large crowd of mourners who had gathered to view the body of the late former prime minister. Raila Odinga.
He was among the many who went to the field of Kasarani to pay their last respects to the veteran politician who passed away in India.
However, when they were in the field, things changed dramatically after the police fired tear gas and live ammunition in an attempt to disperse the people.
This comes after some mourners tried to reach the presidential palace, where the main leaders, including the President William RutoRaila’s family, and other leaders, were waiting before looking at the body.
How many people were killed in Kasarani field?
Sadly, three people were reported to have died in the conflict, leaving their families grieving.
Kenyans shared photos and videos of people who lost their lives on a day that was supposed to be peaceful, but which instead turned into mourning and praise for the dead Raila Odinga.
In one online video shared on Facebook, Vincent’s father, Meshack Okode, was seen crying uncontrollably.
His son was lying on the floor of a police Land Cruiser, about to be taken to the City mortuary.
Okode knelt beside his son’s dead body, crying in agony as other residents looked on, sympathizing.
“My only child, this is my only child… ehh,” she was heard saying through tears.
The heartbreaking video caused a lot of reactions, with netizens sending messages of condolence to the bereaved father.

Kenyans on social media expressed their shock and sadness, with many condemning the violence that marred what was meant to be a peaceful day of mourning for Raila Odinga.
