On Thursday, October 16, at dawn, a sad silence fell at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi.

The flight of Kenya Airways number KQ203, renamed RAO001 in honor of the late leader, landed at three in the morning, carrying the body of Raila Odinga, the former Prime Minister of Kenya and an important pillar in the democratic journey of this nation.

Winnie, Raila’s youngest daughter, was among the mourners who disembarked from the plane, her face showing inner strength and calm despite the grief.

How Winnie and Rosemary comforted each other

In Winnie’s hands was a white fedora hat, a symbol that was her father’s unique symbol, which has now become a sacred memory and an eternal legacy.

Deputy President Kithur Kindiki announced the funeral arrangements, revealing that Raila wanted to be buried within 72 hours of his death.

In other news, Raila wrote a last romantic message to his wife on her birthday.

In the message, he called her the pillar of their family and the precious woman in his life, clearly saying that she is the ice of his heart.
