Nairobi: Hundreds of Kenyans emerged on the streets of the city center (CBD) to mourn the death of a former prime minister Raila Odinga.

In expressing their sadness they marched until the residents of the country’s capital marched up the road in honor of his memory.
However, the protests that had to be peaceful turned into chaos while the hooligans benefited themselves.
Some of the protesters carrying sticks were seen fleeing as the protesters entered the road.
As tensions intensified in the central district of Nairobi, trade on Kimathi, Kenyatta and Moi roads were closed. Police were sent to control the situation and prevent further increases.
The situation worsened as the destroyers invaded shops and stole goods while others destroyed property.
In some videos, mourners were trapped in boda boda pouring into the Jevanjee garden while praising Raila through songs.

This happened after suffering from respiratory problems and collapsed at 7:45 am at Ayurvedic Hospital where he was receiving medical care.
He was later rushed to Devamatha Hospital, where his health rapidly deteriorated and died.
Doctors at the center confirmed that Odinga suffered a heart attack.
