The president of the Republic said that he would join the University of Open University Kenya (OUK), the first institution in the country that offers online lessons.

Did Ruto ask the lecturers to send him slowly?

Speaking at the college on Monday, October 13, Ruto asked the lecturers not to be too aggressive to him during the study.

“I will be studying fake mind lessons (AI), and I hope you will treat me well as a student,” Ruto said while being laughed at by the audience.

Ruto said his decision to join the course at the institution is a way to show his support.

He also urged political leaders to join the AI courses offered by the college.

“I’m going to support them, and as a sign of that support, I’m enrolled as a AI student. I want to understand more.Ruto said.

“It is my proposal that since AI is a new system, we leaders should not be left behind. I want to urge more leaders to have time to learn what AI is,” He added.

How many students will be enrolled in a free university?
Ruto also talked about the future of the college, announcing the government’s plans to enroll 100,000 students by 2026.

He noted that the government has invested in modern resources to support the academy, which will make the education cheaper, easier to find, and quite digital.

“The online courses will be only a small part of the fees charged by other universities in the country,” He said.

These presidential statements prompted the Vice -Chancellor of the Ouk College, Professor Elijah Omwenga, to praise him.

Omwenga said that Ruto’s registration in the campus is a major sign of faith in the college and in Kenya’s direction towards digital education.

“We are proud to be with you as one of our students. Your joining this institution is a great motivation for students who choose to embrace the future of education,” Omwenga said.

Kenya’s Free State University has already enrolled 15,000 students, including 590 international from 70 countries worldwide.
