A military unit officer (GSU) who was on duty at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) has been killed after an altercation with an unknown person.

A police officer who had been tasked with protecting the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) was killed outside a hotel on the Mombasa road, where he was reported to go to charge his phone.

According to a police report, the officer identified as Constable Nahashon Katumo was found dead while lying in a pool of water standing near the Resort, a short distance from the airport fence and his work area.

How did Constable Katumo die?

Witnesses said the officer of Gsu He was attacked by one person shortly after leaving the hotel.

He tried to fight to protect himself, but he was overwhelmed by the striker who had his neck to death.

Witnesses said the officer was wearing his official uniforms during the incident, and after being stabbed, he was pushed into a pool and collapsed.

A colleague who heard the noise of the struggle from afar ran to the scene to try to rescue him, but he was late the officer had already died from the injuries he suffered.

The Witnesses revealed that he had facial and neck injuries, a sign that he might have died from a stabbing. His body was taken to a mortuary waiting for a corpse surgery.

The killer, who tried to escape the scene, was arrested by another official who had responded to an emergency call.

The suspect had been injured in the head and was rushed to hospital for treatment before being kept in custody.

A GSU officer who guarded the palace gate is killed

A few hours after the murder of the JKIA officer, another GSU officer who was guarding the palace in Nairobi was killed by a spear by one civilian.

The officer, whose national police service (NPS) identified him as Constable Ramadhan Mattanka, was attacked by a 56 -year -old man named Kithuka Kimunya on Monday, October 13.

Kimunya reportedly arrived at the palace gate around 2am with a spear hiding in a sack. He asked the door to be opened to enter, but the officer stopped him after he discovered that he had no invitation.

After being detained, Kimunya went back and hid behind one of the cars waiting to be inspected. Shortly thereafter, he pulled the spear from the sack and stabbed Mattanka.

The officer was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), where he was declared dead shortly afterwards.

Police condemned the two incidents of murder and warned civilians against legal violations targeting security officials and peace -loving citizens.
