The family of former minister Simeon Nyachae is in sadness following the death of his eldest daughter, Mary Basweti Nyachae.

Basweti passed away on Tuesday afternoon, October 7, at MP Shah Hospital in Nairobi after a long -term cancer.
He had been hospitalized for several weeks, and recently the hospital asked for blood to assist his treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Basweti was the older sister of attorney Charles Nyachae, the current chairman of the Kenyan government school.
How did Charles Nyachae mourn her sister’s death?
Charles mourned Mary with great emotional honor. Reflecting on their lifestyle, he referred to him as a loving, trustworthy person who was struggling with illness.
He narrated to the arrival of his bed a few minutes before he died, expressing heartfelt sadness and spiritual comfort in his last peaceful minutes.
His message conveyed a lot of sorrow, love, and faith, as he said to his sister with the hope of reuniting the resurrection morning.
“This is painful, but I have looked at you struggling. This afternoon, it was God’s will to rest. In less than five minutes after you arrived near your bed! Our guarantee was that you were waiting for me to leave me.
His death came a few days after the family buried Erick Manyara Mochache, the grandson of the late Nyachae, who died suddenly in Narok.
Sadly, his death also came when some of his relatives were heading to Nyamira County for their aunt’s burial, Mary Nyaboke Sagini. Sagini, widow of Kenya’s first education minister.
The friends of the Nyachae family referred to Mary as a respected man, giving condolences to the Nyachae family during this difficult time.

He gained worldwide fame after winning the 2000 Boston Marathon race and later changing into politics, representing the Emgwen and Chesumei parliamentary constituencies in parliament.
Until his death, he served on the board of the national campaign against the Drug Authority (NACADA).
