Githunguri MP Gathoni Wauchomba has renewed Mount Kenya’s political war by defending the retired president Uhuru Kenyatta.

His remarks came as former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua continued to declare himself as the king of the area, claiming to hold the “keys” of the mountain ballot.
Gachagua has been in a fierce dispute in Mount Kenya since his biggest conflict with the President William Rutowhich reached the peak of its removal from the end of 2024.
In a powerful Facebook post, Wamomba criticized Gachagua’s allies, especially members of the Democracy For Citizens Party (DCP) led by deputy party leader Cleophas Malala, for repeatedly attacking Independence.

Wamumba warned against what he referred to as “humiliating” the leaders, emphasizing that Kiambu is not a Nyeri colony, Gachagua’s home county.
