The mother of two abandoned her seven -month -old baby and a seven -year -old in the store.
He told them that he was going to the allowance mill but did not return that day, leaving the children without anyone.
Rono tells the last phone with his wife
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Chepkorir’s husband, Josphat Rono, narrated the last minute at home before returning to an empty house on the day his wife disappeared.
“It was a market day, I was going to sell a cow at a neighboring center, I went out in the morning to do business, I remember I phoned him in the market and asked him to go later to take money for the purchase of the house because I knew I would make sales.
Later in the day, the weather changed and became cold. I wasn’t carrying a sweater, so I decided to go home to dress well and drop out of shopping money, “ He narrated.
Rono returns home twice and finds a wife lost
When he returned home, Rono did not find his wife or children, though he was not worried at the time. He picked up his sweater, left the shopping money and returned to the market.
“I felt something was wrong and decided to go home from the market. On the way I went to the same store where I found my two children with a snack. It was about 5:30 at night.
At 7:30 pm, I was worried because he was too late to stay out, but I decided to be patient. About 10 pm, I knew there was something wrong. I even looked at where I left the shopping money to confirm if he had probably went to town, but I got the money right, “ Rono remembered.
Is it the first time for Chepkorir to disappear?
He cautioned neighbors who launched a strong search for his wife that night, but their efforts were fruitless. They decided to continue the search the next day.
“There were still no signs, I went to the police station, I realized that the day he disappeared he had cleared almost all the clothes including the field, which he did very rarely, some of his clothes were not with his ID, his phone was off and no one could find even his friends or family members.
It is not the first time he disappears. Some time back, he left for four days but had gone to his parents. We resolved the issue and returned. But this is different, ” Rono added.
How much money has Rono lost for frauds?
Rono suspects that Chepkorir may have gone to another man as he carried many of his clothes and changed his phone number.
The situation has caused Chepkorir’s mother a lot, as Rono revealed, since he has not heard from his daughter.
Rono also said he lost more than Ksh 15,000 to hackers who claimed to see his wife in different places.
