Newspapers: Uhuru Kenyatta is likely to hand Fred Matiang’i the leadership of the Jubilee party

Elsewhere, one of the journals reported on the possibility of former internal security minister, Fred Matiang’i, replacing former president Uhuru Kenyatta as the leader of the Jubilee party.

The attendees included Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, former Kiambu governor James Nyoro, former Nyeri MP in Ngunjiri Wambugu, and other national leaders.

Mr. Kioni said the session was part of the Jubilee strategy to revive the party and organize a new agenda towards the next general election.

“We met to strengthen the party, exchange ideas and prepare a new direction. Dr. Matiang’i was directly related to this important debate,” Said Kion.

For his part, Wambugu said the session was the beginning of the Jubilee strategy to return to power through democratic elections.
