The brothers, 11 and 16, have stayed at home for a week now being very disappointed to return to school after being allegedly abused by their teacher in front of other teachers.
The two girls, who are students at Kenana Primary School, said their female teacher laughed publicly in the teachers’ room – which were also male teachers – because they were not wearing underwear.
The shame was so heavy that, when they were disappointed and scared, they decided to stay at home for fear of being a laugh of their colleagues at school.

In an interview with NTV KenyaThe brothers explained that the teacher had to handle the matter privately instead of keeping them in public.
The young sister, 11, said she was reprimanded for wearing pants in her uniforms.
“He told me to go to the toilet to take off his pants. When I came back, he slammed me and then took me to the Staffroom. Then he searched for me and told the male teachers that I was not wearing underwear,” He narrated while he seemed to be shaken.
His older sister, 16, who had returned to school to talk about school fees, also went through the tragedy.
“He asked me my mother had underwear? I said he had. Then he asked me if he bought enough for us and if I was dressed. He explained with sadness and surprise.
Their mother speaks
Their mother, having been injured in heart, said the teacher had to call him directly instead of humiliating his daughters.
“I don’t understand why he did so for my daughter. He questioned with sadness.
At the moment the girls say they are not feeling safe again at the school and want to be transferred so that they are no longer educated by the teachers who humiliated them.
Community members and education leaders
Njoro residents have condemned the teacher’s action and have asked for disciplinary action immediately.
One village elder emphasized that teachers should treat students with respect regardless of their circumstances.
So far, the leadership of Kenana Primary School has not made a formal statement.
Njoro County Education Director, George Muhuro, has advised parents to report the incident to the point so that action can be taken.
