Deputy Governor of Homa Bay, Joseph Oyugi Magwanga, has opposed Boyd Were for the position of parliament to replace his late father, former Kasipul MP, Charles Ong’ongo Were, an ODM party match.

Boyd, one of the five candidates for the ODM ticket, gained popularity following the death of his father and has already been supported by several party leaders, including Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma.
Why does Magwanga oppose Boyd Were’s intention?
Magwanga warned Kasipul residents against choosing leaders on the basis of family relationships, saying that forced leadership could pass on bad behavior.

MP Peter Kaluma accused Magwanga of his remarks, claiming he had a personal hatred against the late Were and his family.
Kaluma said Magwanga did not attend Were’s funeral with his KSh 20,000 contribution sent to M-money You were restored.
He also claimed that Magwanga shot himself in his official car to appear a victim of political violence.

Opponents of the Kasipul parliamentary seat
Kasipul parliament has attracted more than ten candidates, including five ODM tickets, two independent, and others from different parties.
In addition to Boyd Were, key candidates include Newton Ogada (ODM) and free Robert Riaga and Philip Aroko.
The ODM party has promised to make small and transparent elections between September 24 and 27.

Ryan’s statement injendi after failing
In another news, Ryan Injendi got second in the UDA referendum where the ticket was taken by David Ndakwa, MCA of Kabras West and the leader of the majority in the Kakamega County parliament.
Inkundi later he claimed that influential officials within the party intervened in the process, saying there was a voting and violence in some areas, which resulted in injury to one of his supporters.
Despite the challenge, Injendi emphasized his loyalty to the President William Ruto and the UDA party, vowing to continue to support its agendas.
