A family in Lamu County is asking for answers after their loved one, Mohammed Obbo, kidnapped by six men covered their faces believed to be security officers.

Fisherman and businessman, Obbo was taken from his home in Kiunga while visiting the family following his business activities.

How was Obbo kidnapped?

His family said it had been a week since the incident, and they are still worried about his whereabouts.

Obbo’s brother narrated his terrible kidnapping, revealing that the six men had enough weapons and were in the mission when they invaded his house.

“At eight and a half at night, people came with their faces and carrying a gun. They forced the door to open, they came in, and hit his friend in the face of a gun, and locked his wife in the room, and took Mohammed,” Said Ali Omar, his brother Mohammed.

The family reported that they had visited a number of security offices, including the Kizingini Police Station, where they submitted the report, but there was no information about Mohammed.

Obbo’s sister cried for the government to release her if she had committed an offense, mentioning that Kenya had law.

“He hasn’t done anything wrong to anyone. He suffers, and we don’t know what he is going through. We call on the government that if he has committed a crime, the law exists,” Halima Omar said.

Kiunga, the border city, has continued to strengthen security due to the past terrorist -related events.

Locals said they needed a formal permit to enter the countryside or into the sea after reporting to the safety unit.

Ali explained that the area is implementing strong movements of the movement after noon, making Obbo’s kidnapping environment, according to his family.

Family groups and justice believe that law enforcement must take responsibility for the search for him.

Elsewhere, Kiambu’s investigators rescued a man who had been banned by a gang demanding compensation of KSh 500,000.

The victim’s boyfriend informed the authorities after an unknown voice responded to his phone, threatening to harm him unless the money was paid.

Investigators followed the phone to Ithanga, where they found the victim injured and bleeding.
