Minister of Land, Housing and Urban Development Alice Wahome has strongly responded to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

This follows his recent statements of ignoring his position in the government, warning him against pulling him into personal attacks.
Last week, Gachagua, addressing the residents of the same village, claimed that the Home had no influence on the government.
He claimed that he advised him to stay in his cabinet for a salary and educate his children.

How did the Wahome respond to Gachagua?
During a visit to meet with citizens in Mukwa Village, Kandara, on Tuesday, September 16, Wahome strongly criticized Gachagua for calling him a “flower girl” at the Ministry of Land.
He said his remarks are not only humiliating but also insulting to his profession and his service record.
In a sharp response, Wahome announced that he was not afraid of Gachagua and did not use his confirmation.
He told residents that all his children were growing up and free, ignoring the claim that his position in the government was prompted by personal needs.
“Former Vice President Rigathi Gachagua is provoking others, thinking I will fear him. If there are those who fear him, I am not one of them. Wahome proclaimed firmly while cheering fiercely.
Does Home need a political speaker?
The confident minister, who was formerly a member of the Kandara before being appointed to the government, accused Gachagua of trying to undermine his trust.
He reminded the former Deputy President in government that he is an attorney and an experienced politician, who does not need a speaker.
“I have not let him say on my behalf. He said I have no voice in the government, claiming I am in government, get a salary and teach my children. I’m not in the government because of my children, they are all growing up and working. If he is old, he should go home alone. If he wants to speak, speak his own words. he added.
Wahome noted that his appointment was based on his record of work and loyalty to the government of the Kenya firstit is neither a privilege nor a fanaticism as Gachaea suggested. He also criticized him for using personal insults rather than discussing issues concerning Kenyans.
“Stop mentioning my name in his politics. You can’t throw stones while living in a mirror house,” Wahome said.

Elsewhere, Gachagua said his professional relationship with President William Ruto was no longer possible after one year of repeated conflicts.
He claimed that by October 2022, tensions had begun to appear, but by 2023 things deteriorated.
Gachagua claimed that Ruto began to be angry when he clearly criticized the policies he considered to be dangerous, including the money bill, allegations of force against youth, and other decisions that were twisted from what he called moral leadership.
He claimed that he remained in the government because of his duty to Kenyans, believing his position to be elected had to say clearly and thwart the bad policy in the system.
