Beatrice Chebet was in tears after Faith Kipyegon won a gold medal in the 1500 -meter race for women in the 2025 World Cup in Tokyo.

Chebet, who won the first Kenyan gold medal at the event, was on the grounds to support his friendly friend.
Kipyegon has concluded another good season with the world crown, thus strengthening his role among the athletics.
How Faith Kipyegon got gold in Tokyo
Kipyegon entered the finals as more beloved, having already won the crown Three of the Olympics and the world in the 1500m race.
With Diribe Welteji being temporarily suspended due to drug tests that were not resolved by Gudaf Tsegay deciding not to run away from the short distance, Kipyegon was given the chance to win.
On Tuesday, September 16, he crossed the line comfortably in front of his colleagues Nelly Chepchirchir, Dorcus Ewoi, and Australian Jessica Hull.
The 31 -year -old’s resume now includes three Olympic crowns, five world crowns and a world record.
He can add another crown if he wins the crown of 5000 meters later a week.
It was the fourth world title of Kipyegon and the third Kenyan gold medal in Japan.
Kipyegon defeated his permanent opponent Jessica Hull of Australia and Dorcus Ewoi and won another title.
As Kipyegon celebrated his victory, the cameras caught Chebet, giving tears of joy.
The two will now compete in the 5000 meter final for women.
Kipyegon is the world champion, with Chebet holding the Olympic crown.
The 5000 -meter race is scheduled for Saturday, September 20.
