The funeral ceremony in Kisii turned out to be aggressive after clashes between two MPs about the statements made about the President William Ruto.

The incident involved a few North Tutu MP, Japheth Nyakundi, in partnership with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), and a few Tutu MPs in the south, Anthony Kibagendi of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

Why did Bage, Nyakundi fight?

The condition of the rage escalated during the funeral of Mama Salome Ongwae, the first Kisii County governor, James Omariba Ongwae, on Friday, September 12, when Kibagendi publicly criticized Ruto, referring to him as a liar, a statement that upset Nyrbo.

“When we were misled as a community and a nation to elect a president who is a liar …,” He said after making it clear that Kisii should support former ministers Fred Matiang’i in the next 2027 general election.

According to the video, Nyakundi, appearing to be upset by the remarks, interrupted Kibagendi and tried to snatch the microphone.

When the ODM politician refused to surrender, he confronted him and caused a blow.

Security and mourners rushed to the platform to separate the two leaders and restore peace.

What did Kibagendi say after the fight against Nyakundi?

Speaking after the incident, Kibagendi claimed that Nyakundi, who had served as a unit of the unit involving political leaders, had been mobilizing supporters before the incident and demanded that mourners not sing ‘Wantam’.

Why did Simba Arati, Osoro shoot each other?
