The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has issued a directive to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) to arrest Isiolo Governor Ibrahim Abdi Hassan, along with seven others.

The group will face charges related to kidnapping and theft of force.
“The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) would like to inform the public of the arrest and arrest of Isiolo Governor Ibrahim Abdi Hassan Alma’s famous Guyo and seven others in connection with serious criminal offenses,” The statement read.
ODPP pointed out that the matter was based on an investigation into Machakos County, but later transferred to Nairobi for an impartial assessment, considering its importance to the public.
“On June 19, 2025, ODPP in Machakos County received an investigation file from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Kiyumbi about Isiolo Governor Ibrahim Abdi Hassan famous Guyo and seven others.
The ODPP reported that an investigation revealed an incident in which Abdirahaman Mohamed, a former Health Officer in Isiolo County, along with several MCAs supporting the departure of the governor, was allegedly attacked and kidnapped by the governor’s order.
“On that day, former Isiolo County Health Officer, Abdirahaman Mohamed and 15 members of the County Assembly (MCAS) who supported the removal of the governor were at the Outbark Hotel in the Desert, Machakos County.
“The governor and his supporters later arrived at the scene and, in accordance with his instructions, forcefully disarming him and attacked Mr. Abdirahaman.
Additionally, the ODPP showed that the victim was denied personal property during the incident, which included guns, mobile phone and money.
“During the misery, Mr Abdirahaman lost a pistol with a 15 -shotgun license, iPhone 16, and cash in Ksh70,000, and personal property. CCTV photos from the Outbark hotel put Governor Ibrahim Abdi Hassan famous Guyo and Abdullahi Jaldesa Banticah, Jidi, Abbadin Di Shid Abdullahi Jaldesa Duale, Josephat Mwangi Komu, and Yusuf Maina at the scene, ” The statement continued to read.
As a result, the Director of Public Prosecutions has ordered law enforcement agencies to arrest and prosecute all those responsible for the kidnapping and theft of force.
“According to the evidence presented, the DPP has ordered it DCI arrest and bring all suspects above to answer charges of kidnapping with a view to causing serious harm and theft of force, ” concluded the statement.
