William Ruto bought a bull of Ksh 1 million at the Mombasa Agricultural Exhibition auction

  • The first bull was auctioned on the Mombasa Ask Show, a 679 -kilogram brown bull from Kilifi County, was sold to business minister Salim Mvurya after bidding for competition

President Ruto, Senate Speaker Amason Kingi, and Mombasa Governor, Abdullswamad Sherrif Nassir, participated in a fierce bull match during the auction at the exhibition.

The first cow at the auction was a brown bull from Kilifi County. The bull’s bull weighing 679 kg started at KSh 40,000.

Minister of Commerce Salim Mvurya He offered a bid for KSh 100,000, followed by a bid of Ksh 200,000 from President Ruto. After a bid from other government officials in attendance, Mvurya bought the bull for KSh 350,000.

The second bull at the auction was a five -year -old Boran cow from a farm in Kilifi.

The bull of Kenya’s bull weighed 775 kg, and Ruto set the first bid to Ksh 400,000; However, the Governor of Mombasa won the Boran bull bid to KSh 500,000.

The third bull at the auction was a three -year -old Charolais bull, who weighed 527 kg and sold for KSh 300,000.

WILLIAM RUTO BUILDS A KSH 1 MILLION

The broker announced that the fourth bull was one of the best in the show.

“Sir, we present one of the best cows in this 2025 show … this is Chianina’s kind, weighing 885 kg, and he is three years old,” The broker said.

The Speaker of the Senate Kingi put the first bid to KSh 300,000, Ruto raised to Ksh 400,000, and the governor of Mombasa put a bid of half a million shillings. He put the following bid to KSh 550,000.

The auctioneer called on bidders to improve their offers, saying, “This is a cow has been imported from South Africa. Let’s go a little price.”

Governor Nassir added his request to KSh 600,000, and Ruto raised his offer to Ksh 700,000 and then to KSh 1 million.

President Ruto also awarded the best breeds during the exhibition before visiting the exhibition desks.

Did Ruto and Gachagua bought a goat in Baringo?

On December 14, 2023, President Ruto and his deputy of the time, Rigathi Gachaguathey chaired the Kimalel auction and goat culture in Baringo.

They bought 1,000 goats worth KSh 15 million at KSh 15,000 each.

Other leaders, including Cabinet, governors, senators, legislators and MCAs, were allowed to buy goats for KSh 13,000 each, over the previous year’s price of KSh 12,000.

Among the main buyers were CS Kipchumba Murkomen and MP Oscar Sudi, who each bought 150 goats; Baringo MPs bought 120, Governor Benjamin Cheboi (100), Belgut MP Nelson Koech (100), KNCCI President Eric Ruto (100), and Senator William Cheptumo (50).

During the auction, President Ruto emphasized that all purchases should be paid for cash, warning against a loan or check to avoid reduced payments.

The Kimalel goat auction was introduced in 1986 by the late President Daniel Arap Moi To promote the state of self -reliance among Baringo residents, and since then it has grown into a major cultural and economic event taking place every year.
