The numbers indicate that residents may be prioritizing skills and continuity rather than announcing the party, given that Ruku himself was elected for the DP ticket in the 2022 general election.

What are some of the North Mbeere candidates?

Trailing Karish is the ruling party, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate Leonard Muriuki, and 33.3% of popularity.

The ruling party has the most national influence and enjoys a 26.7% preference in North Mbeere, however its candidate has not been able to bridge Karish’s gap in the parliament.

Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua Democracy candidate for the Citizens’ Party (DCP) Duncan Mbui is in third place by 20%.

With his party enjoying the highest 43.3% of the bureaucracy across the parliament, Mbui has struggled to translate this into personal support.

This gap between the party’s power and the candidate’s performance emphasizes the challenges facing the DCP in changing its broad base into a real vote.
