The newspapers also reported on the strategies used by former Minister of Internal Security, Fred Matiang’i, towards the 2027 elections.

1. The Star

The newspaper reported on the president’s strong position William Ruto against corruption in the health sector.

Speaking in Siaya County on Sunday, August 31, the head of state confirmed his government’s commitment to fight corruption.

Ruto said that all those involved in corruption at the Social Health Insurance Fund (SH) would have to return the public money they stole, as well as being charged.

“There are people who want to hold the old routes, where the government is buying a product worth Ksh 2 for Ksh 10,” Said Ruto.

According to the President, those who have stolen public funds, including the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), will be held accountable.

2. Daily Nation

The newspaper reported that former Minister of Internal Security, Fred Matiang’i, quietly formed his presidential plan in 2027, combining policy commitments, coalition agreements, and local mobilization in the anti -control tactics of President William Ruto.

Matiang’i has already formed a technical team to explore the possibility of parties to unite or form a coalition party that will be his political car for 2027.

On August 21, the former minister led a meeting with leaders from six parties – Upa, Jubilee, Dep (Bus), PDP, KSC, and PNU.

Now it emerges that the former president Uhuru Kenyatta He may resign as the leader of the Jubilee party to give Matiang’i during the next National Assembly (NDC).

The technical committee has also been tasked with planning a local mobilization and organizing a joint manifesto that the Matiang’i campaign will depend on.

Matiang’i organizes himself as a reformer, experiences and networks to liberate Kenya from what he calls “a failed government.”

The campaign of the former influential minister will be built on the anti -corruption platform, promising the “endlessness” of looting in government.

Speaking at a funeral in Nyasore village, Kitutu Masaba, Nyamira County, on Friday, August 29, Matiang’i accused the government of Kenya first by immersing in corruption, poor management, and inaccurate priorities.

“What we are witnessing is nothing else but a terrible greed and a clear theft of resources. Someone is running the country towards a collapse,” Said Matiang’i.

Its 2027 manifesto will focus on three main promises: restoring government justice, solving Kenya’s economic problems, and investing in human capital.

Critics say, the Matiang’i campaign approach is similar to that of Ruto’s 2022 Hustler Nation – Small Ward Meetings and Parliamentary areas designed to build more close relationships with voters rather than relying on large public meetings.
