The government has rolled out a new online portal aimed at connecting Kenyan youth to jobs, training, and career growth opportunities across the country.
President William Ruto officially launched the platform, dubbed “Kuna Form”, on August 12, 2025, during the International Youth Day celebrations in Kakamega County.
According to the National Youth Council (NYC), the idea for Kuna Form emerged after repeated concerns from young people who said they struggled to access credible information on available opportunities.
“When the National Youth Council interacts with young people, a lot of them say they don’t know how to access opportunities. Under the leadership of Cabinet Secretary for Sports Salim Mvurya and Principal Secretary Fikirini Jacobs, we first created a physical copy, known as the Youth Pass Opportunity. We try to summarize all the opportunities young people can access,” an NYC official explained.
“From there, we developed the digital version, Kuna Form, to make it easier for youth to find and benefit from these opportunities.”
The portal, available at kunaform.nyckenya.go.ke, is a one-stop platform where Kenyan youth can look for, apply to, and list opportunities. They range from job openings, internships, mentorship, training, and funding for youth ventures. The only prerequisite is a functional email address to sign up.

During the launch, President Ruto underscored the pivotal role young people are set to play in Kenya’s future.
“The single most decisive force that will shape Kenya’s destiny is not oil, gold, or any other natural resource: it is our youth. For generations, young people have been referred to as the leaders of tomorrow. Our youth are the builders of today, the architects of our future, and the driving engine powering Kenya’s rise to greatness,” he said.
Ruto also outlined several government initiatives targeting youth unemployment. These include the Climate Worx program and the Uwezo Fund, which will cover costs for young Kenyans seeking employment abroad, complementing labour export strategies.
He cited the Kenya Youth Employment Opportunities Project (KYEOP), which empowered over 310,000 youth between 2018 and 2023. Its successor, the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) programme, has already received over one million applications and targets to increase employability and financial capacity.
Looking ahead, the President announced plans to establish the Youth Entrepreneurship Investment Bank (YEIB) before the close of the current financial year. With a capitalization of $75 million (about Ksh9.75 billion), YEIB will provide financing, credit guarantees, and capacity-building support for youth-founded and youth-led enterprises.
He further revealed the launch of the Kandarasi Mtaani programme, expected to create jobs for an additional 200,000 young people nationwide.
