He also claimed that he and his colleagues from the opposition previously wanted the head of state to listen to Kenyans.

“Mr. RutoKenyans asked you to stop arbitrary killings, force and unnecessary violence against civilians using government -funded militias, police violence, forced abduction and disappearance, illegal detention, and open human rights violations, ” Gachagua’s statement read in part.

Why is William Ruto under investigation?

Gachagua’s comments come after Idaho Senator and Chairman of Foreign Relations, James Risch, called on the US Senate to assess Kenya’s non -NATO state.

The status was presented in July last year following President William Ruto’s government visit to the United States during the administration of Joe Biden.

The request for the review, however, was based on allegations of relations between the Kenyan government, senior officials and non -governmental armed groups to include Sudan’s immediate support forces (RSF).

This comes several months after Sudan asked Ruto to host the RSF group. The move angered Sudan, which accused Ruto of violating international regulations.

What call did Gachagua make to Kenyans?

Following recent events, Gachagua called on Kenyans to increase their defense to the international community on evils that are affecting the country at present.

“I urge Kenyans who live and work in the United States to reach their Senators and the truth about what is going on for our beloved nation, Kenya. We will not sit well and watch our country fall into chaos, anxiety and dictatorship,” Gachagua said.

Gachagua said that Kenya may have lost strategic cooperation for protection and security in research, security, training, protection and military assistance, and regional security responsibilities with the United States.

“Mr William Ruto must respond to the people of Kenya and take the full responsibility of humiliating our beloved country, Kenya,” Gachagua added.

He also argued that the opposition had issued a warning to Ruto and demanded that he prevent foreign terrorist organizations from Kenya.

“Under Mr. William Ruto, Kenya has become a financial refuge for individuals and organizations on the list of foreign property regulatory office and specialized people and foreign terrorist organizations, including individuals and organizations in some neighboring countries,” he added.
