Uhuru was in the Nairobi White House on Friday, August 1, to attend the Joint Summit of the East African Community (EAC) and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) to assess the situation in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
In his position as chairman of the EAC, Ruto He led the meeting with President Emerson Mnagangwa of Zimbabwe, who is the Chairman of SADC.
Independence attended due to his role as one of the facilitators in the peace process.
After the meeting, Ruto and Independence began the visit to the White House. Ruto said “I was pleased to send my former friend, retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, on a visit around the White House after a joint EAC-SADC meeting on restoring peace and stability in the DRC.”
