On Sunday, July 20, the President attended the ceremony to bring Bishop Benjamin Kalanzo as the new pastor of AIC Machakos, replacing retired Bishop Philip Muia.

In his speech, Ruto announced that with the help of friends, he had bought a new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado for rewarding Bishop Kalanzo.
A joy erupted when the President handed the new bishop the keys to enjoy his gift.
The national leader also promised to give KSh 20 million to the AIC Machakos church to support the construction of their new temple.
Ruto promised to provide 10 percent of the total cost of construction after it was informed that the construction budget is 200 million KSh.
He asked the church leadership to form a special committee and give him the official number of accounts in which he would send those 20 million.
“And because you have faith, I also believe that we will complete it. So, I will start with 10 percent of that two hundred.
Ruto defended his initiative to sacrifice to churches, emphasizing that cooperation with religious institutions is essential to national development.
How Ruto defended the Building of Church in the White House
In his speech, the national leader accused those who opposed his decision to build the KSh 1.2 billion church in the Nairobi palace.
In a joke, Ruto mocked the Archbishop of the Anglican Church, Jackson Ole Sapit, to ask who would serve as the bishop of the White House.
In humor, the President said that once he retired from politics, he would be a gospel preacher.
“There is one bishop who complained so much when he heard we were building the White House. He said, ‘Who will be a bishop? Will the President be a bishop?’ I am not bishop at the moment, but when I finish this work of politics, I will be a preacher of the Gospel, ” He said.

Bishop defending William Ruto
In another statement, Bishop Samuel Ngacha criticized Kenyans who opposed the construction of the church in the White House.
During a meeting held at the White House, Nairobi, Wednesday, July 16, Ngacha said that people should not oppose the construction of a Christian altar unless they are “opposed to Christ”.
The pastor surprised the Christians who were part of the group that opposed the construction of the church.
