A video circulated online, which was recorded during a prayer for the late Briget Njoki at Our Lady of Fatima church in Kiambu County, has sparked debate on whether politician Fred Matiang’i was really sleeping or trapped by the camera for a bad time.

Did Fred Matiang’i sleep in church?

Matiang’i was seen sitting quietly on the bench of believers throughout the worship, along with other prominent politicians like Eugene Wamalwa, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyokaand Cleophas Malala.

Some Kenyans argued that the former minister was probably tired of the sermon or was “political tired,” but others defended him saying the video might have been made context or showed him negatively because of the camera’s attitude.

Matiang’i is no stranger to church matters. People have seen him share worship and even lead songs of praise, which surprised and excited the attendees.

In 2018, the politician, known for speaking strong and strong, showed his side of humanity and humility as a servant of Christ, when he led the believers to the song of praise in Kijegusii.

Matiang’i is the Adventist of the faithful believer of the Sabbath.

The video brought humor into a sad event, reminding Kenyans that even their leaders are human too.
