How PC Klinzy Barasa found himself in trouble
In a very low -level video on the Internet and capturing the traumatic event, Barasa, wearing a formal draw, was seen beating Kariuki with a shot before shooting him in the head closely, then running immediately.
The vendor fell to the ground unconscious and bleeding, with witnesses rushing to rescue him and rushed him to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).
Kiprono seemed to restrain himself when his colleague continued the dangerous attack against the unarmed vendor.
On Thursday, July 10, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) approved a murder charge against Barasa.
Judge Kanyi Kimondo ordered Barasa, 32, to be banned from the Nairobi Prison Remand to await a psychiatric investigation before his case began.
He is expected to respond to the charges on July 28.
Kiprono was released after an investigation to confirm that he was not involved in any offenses.
Kariuki died on June 30 after two weeks of being in the intensive care unit (ICU) in KNH.
The 22-year-old had already been declared Brain-Dead.
Kariuki was selling the barn to the protesters in Nairobi when he met the stubborn officer.
KNH doctors confirmed that the boy suffered a brain injury after a ball shooting was shot and the suspect penetrated his head.
The incident sparked another outrage online, as protesters were on the streets complaining of police brutality following the murder of blogger Albert Ojwang in the corner.
After the Kariuki incident, Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja ordered the suspension of Barasa and Kiprono, who were later arrested and taken to court.
When will Boniface Kariuki be buried?
Meanwhile, the body of the late Kariuki will be buried on Friday, July 11.
The memorial service in his honor took place at the All Saints Cathedral Church in Nairobi on Wednesday, July 9.
His late mother, Susan Njeri, narrated how he warned his son against going to the street on the day of disaster.
In his heart -touching condolences read on his behalf, Njeri described the pain of losing his first son in such a sad environment.
He mourned with words:
“I loved you so much as my first son and my successor. Rest in peace my son.”
President William Ruto He previously participated in the family’s mourning, and made a contribution of KSh 1 million for funeral expenses.
