Lawyer and social media commentator Wahome Thuku has urged Embakasi East residents not to let go of their Member of Parliament (MP), Babu Owino.

Taking to his official X account on the night of Saturday, July 5, 2025, Thuku heaped praises on the vocal MP, noting that his constituents really got an asset.

The lawyer argued that for the past few days he has interacted with Babu Owino, and he had noticed he is a guy his constituents need.

“You people of Embakasi East, don’t let @HEBabuOwino go. You have an asset there. I have interacted with him in the past few days, and he is just the guy you people need,” he stated.

Brilliant and resourceful

Thuku went ahead to state that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) second-term lawmaker is brilliant and very resourceful.

He also argued that the lawmaker is very respectful, noting that he is among the few leaders who would ask for your phone number instead of you asking.

The social media commentator also praised Babu Owino for standing with the family of Victor Otieno, a victim of the June 25, 2025, protests, who was shot dead in Thika.

“He is brilliant and very resourceful. And very respectful. Rarely do waheshimiwa ask for your number; they expect you to have theirs. Him here in Juja today condoling with the family of 24-year-old Victor Otieno, who was shot in Thika during the June 25th protests,” Thuku wrote on X.

Babu Owino had earlier indicated that Victor was a student at Thika Technical College before he met his death.

“Today I went to condole with the family of Victor who was killed in Juja by the Police during Maandamano on 25th June 2025. Victor was a comrade at Thika Technical. There are no words that can truly ease the grief of losing someone so suddenly and unjustly. Victor stood for something greater, speaking out, showing courage, and being part of a call for justice. His voice, presence, and spirit will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. We stand with them in mourning, in solidarity, and in the ongoing fight for truth and justice,” Babu Owino wrote on Instagram.
