Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced a planned power maintenance on Sunday, July 6, 2025, which is set to affect parts of four counties.
The utility firm, in a public notice issued on Saturday, July 5, 2025, listed the areas in Kajiado, Machakos, Nyeri, and Kiambu counties that are set to experience a blackout during the planned maintenance.
Kajiado County
In Kajiado County, the whole of Kajiado town, the whole of Isinya town, the county offices, Mile 46, Duka Moja, Iseuri Olomunyi, Oloyangalani, Inkiwanjani, Tumaini, and Ashanta will remain without power from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Other areas to be affected in Kajiado are Kitili farm, PJ Dave, the whole of Engiringiri, Mboga Tuu, Sajiloni, Naisula, Nespoly, Technosteels, Kingsung, Enchori, Globsil, Keda, and Ramoda.

Machakos
In Machakos, the Athi River area will be affected. The specific areas that will be affected from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm are the KPLC Mlolongo Office, Lifestyle Care Hospital, Saphire Business Park, Athi 55, Shell Sabaki, Rubis Sabaki, Ngwata, Police Line, Mlolongo Shopping Centre, Kathangaita, Mlolongo 3D, and Caphill.
Nyeri
Nyeri town and the areas around Outspan Hospital are set to be affected from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The specific areas set to experience the blackout are Ibis Hotel, Shell Petrol Station, Upper Stage, Total Muhoya Petrol Station, Post Office, White Rhino, Law Courts, Golf Club, KPLC Stima House, Outspan Hotel, Outspan Hospital, St. Peters ACK Church, Bradegate Hotel, Tana Water, St. Cuthbert PCEA, Nyewasco Offices, Upper Town Kobil Petro Stn, and National Bank.

Parts of Kiambu County
Cravers and Witeithie areas will be affected in Kiambu. The specific areas to be affected are Total Gatitu, Cravers Hotel, TIBS, Vincentian Prayer House, Mangu High, Compuera High, Ndarugu Coffee Establishment, Parts of Ngoingwa, THIWASCO, and Albizzia.
