Digital content creator Diana Marua has opened up about the trolling and body‑shaming she faced during the early days of her relationship with award‑winning musician Kevin Kioko, also known as Bahati.
In a video shared on her YouTube channel on Thursday, July 4, 2025, Marua shared how pregnancy affected her weight and how she coped with public scrutiny.
She disclosed that when she first met her husband, she weighed 65 kg, but after becoming pregnant, her weight skyrocketed to 92 kg, which she attributes to pregnancy cravings.
“I remember when I met Baha tukaanza kudate I was a young girl doing life, and when I got pregnant with Heaven, when I met my husband, I was about 65 Kgs and by the time I was going to the theatre to deliver my firstborn, and when I was checked for my weight that morning in the theatre, I was 92 kg,” she disclosed.

“When I look at those photos, by the way, I do not blame you guys, but let me tell you, you never know what people are going through. I was not going through anything; I was pregnant na nilikuwa na cravings za pregnancy, and by the time you realise you have added a lot of weight.”
Body-shamed
The YouTuber added that as pregnancy weight accumulated, her body changed and attracted body shamers, adding that at the time, Bahati had a petite frame, and whenever they walked together, people would stare at them.
Hatutaachana hitmaker went on to say that besides being body‑shamed, she was also age‑shamed by netizens.
She also recalled how supportive Bahati was and how he shared encouraging words with her during that difficult time.
