Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced a planned power interruption affecting several parts of the country on Friday, July 4, 2025, as part of scheduled maintenance works on its distribution network.
In a public notice issued on Thursday, July 2025, the utility firm listed the areas that will be hit by a blackout during the scheduled maintenance.
In the Nairobi region, the areas of Parklands, specifically Wangapala Road, will be affected from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with people adjacent to Wangapala Road also set to be affected.
Migori County
The maintenance will also affect parts of Migori County, with Ntimaru and Taranganya areas set to be affected from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Ntimaru market, Taranganya market and schools, Kobito village, Riamanyangi, Anmgata Sugar Factory, Guitembe market, Wangirabose, Masangora, and Nyabikongori areas will be affected.
“Whole of Ntimaru Mkt, Taranganya Mkt & Schls, Kobito Village, Riamanyangi, Angata Sugar Factory, Riamanyangi Village, Guitembe Mkt, Senta Mkt, Wangi-rabose, Masangora, Nyabikongori & adjacent customers,” Kenya Power stated.
Kiambu
In Kiambu County, parts of Thindigua, Kigwa Farm, Paradise Lost, Muhasibu, Kwaheri Road, Fourways Junction, Bar Next Door, KFC Shell, Thindigua Police, and PCEA Thindigua will be affected.
“AREA: PART OF THINDIGUA, FOURWAYS, DATE: Friday 04.07.2025 TIME: 9.00 Α.Μ. – 5.00 Ρ.Μ. Parts of Thindigua, Kigwa Farm, Paradise Lost, Muhasibu, Kwaheri Rd, Fourways Junction, Bar Next Door, KFC Shell, Thindigua Police, PCEA Thindigua & adjacent customers,” the utility firm stated.
In Kilifi County, Matsangoni, Mida Creek, Uyomboa, Mpenda Kula, Gede, and adjacent residents will be affected from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
