The body of the killed blogger, Albert Ojwang, was taken to their village in Homa Bay County, before the funeral.

The Ojwang family performed a memorial service at the Ridgeways Baptist church on Kiambu Road on Wednesday, July 2.
The family congratulated the killed blogger, who died at the hands of police on June 8.
Students from the Technical College of Mzwigo received his body when it arrived in their village.
Elder Meshack Opiyo, Ojwang’s biological father, appeared in a car carrying a corpse with his wife and grandson in one of the videos.
In another widespread video online, students were seen carrying Ojwang’s coffin as they headed towards the Mawego police station, where he was last seen alive before being transferred to Nairobi.
The students sang anti -violence songs while carrying a coffin. According to reports, the students took the body up to the center as a way to express anger and oppose how he died.
A video of Elder Opiyo trying to calm angry protesters has emerged.
Ojwang’s father was on the car with a microphone, trying to talk to protesters who had a strong desire to fulfill their mission. The noise from the protesters surpassed his voice.
Homa Bay County Commissioner had previously called on young people to maintain peace before Ojwang’s funeral.
