Migori Senator Eddy Oketch has stated that the remarks by the Director of the DCI, Mohammed Amin, that he does not know the whereabouts of blogger Ndiangui Kinyagia.
Speaking during a morning TV show on Thursday, July 3, 2025, Oketch said that the security infrastructure in the country was so advanced that it would make it difficult not to trace an abducted individual.
“Abductions in this country have taken a number of forms; predominantly, we have seen the abductions done by authorities, and we have also seen people getting lost in circumstances that cannot be explained,” Oketch said.
Security infrastructure
“With the kind of security architecture or infrastructure that we have in the country, it shows badly for us when we cannot be able to account for a citizen for long,” he stated.
“It is possible that the DCI does not know the whereabouts of Kinyagia, but that possibility is unfortunate in our country.”

“Regardless of who has abducted a Kenyan, it is an unfortunate situation when our security agencies cannot account for one, and it indicts the DCI, the National Police Service and the National Intelligence Service (NIS),” the senator observed.
House raided
According to eyewitness accounts shared by LSK, Kinyagia’s home was raided in broad daylight by a group of six to ten men driving Subaru vehicles.
The intruders forcibly broke into the residence and seized several items, including laptops, passports, and other electronic devices. Since the incident, the advocate’s whereabouts remain unknown.
