Kenyan star Catherine Kamau, popularly known as Kate Actress, has opened up about her impressive weight loss journey, crediting semaglutide (Wegovy), a tailored diet, and consistent training for her transformation.
Taking to her official social media channels, on Monday, June 30, 2025, Kate shared a jaw-dropping look after embarking on a weight loss journey, stating that muscle and consistency cannot be bought.
Thespain, in addition, expressed empathy for women struggling with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), calling it a monster. She hoped they would find a breakthrough in battling hormonal weight gain.
The award-winning actress also revealed that what worked for her was a combination of semaglutide along with a disciplined diet and consistent weight training alongside her coach.

“Unfortunately, we can’t buy muscle and consistency… To all the girls who are struggling with the monster PCOS, I hope you finally get a breakthrough to fight off the hormonal weight gain. Mine was Semaglutide thanks to @zelaaesthetics, diet and consistency in weight training… with my coach @omunacollins,” she said.
Kate Actress’s journey is a powerful reminder that for many women, especially those facing PCOS, medication like semaglutide can be life-changing, but it’s most effective when paired with structure, effort, and ongoing support.

Weight loss journey
The multitalented actress is among Kenyan celebrities who have turned to medical interventions for weight loss.
Kate publicly shared about her weight loss journey in May 2022. She revealed she underwent the gastric balloon procedure, costing approximately Ksh300,000, to address her weight concerns after gym efforts proved ineffective.
Thespian also noted that a gastric balloon procedure is not a quick fix, with hard work and dieting still required.

“The first 3 days were a bit uncomfortable; this is because the body was fighting the foreign substance (gastric Balloon) in my body… It is a normal reaction. @nairobi bariatric had me on a hydration drip for 3 days and medication to ease the discomfort,” she said.
And in December 2024, Kate began using Wegovy, an injectable medication containing semaglutide that aids in weight loss by suppressing appetite.
Over four months, she observed a reduction in her hip size from 50 to 46 inches. She noted that the medication curbed her cravings, making her prefer healthier food options.
Kate’s openness about her experiences serves as an inspiration to many, highlighting the importance of self-love and determination in achieving personal health goals.
