Kayole-born, award-winning rapper Khaligraph Jones has come out guns blazing after a section of his fans flooded his DMs, demanding to know why he appears to be shooting most of his recent music videos from his house rather than exploring other outdoor scenes.
In a strongly worded video shared on his Instagram stories on Sunday, June 29, 2025, the celebrated artiste lamented the growing number of individuals who, despite being strangers, have made it their mission to dictate how he should shoot his videos and where.
Khaligraph revealed that he is regularly bombarded with advice from unknown individuals attempting to micromanage his creative decisions, noting that while many focus on other stuff, a majority centre on the content of his videos.
“Look, I have been receiving a lot of unsolicited advice in my direct messages lately. Strangers keep sending me advice. Some people say, ‘Oh, we have noticed that all your videos are being shot in the same location,’ Khaligraph said.

He, however, dismissed such remarks as baseless, stating that his decision to utilise his own home for visuals is deliberate and fully within his rights as a creator.
Defends using his house
He said that those criticising him for repeatedly using his personal space fail to understand the intention behind building the house in the first place.
The ‘Khali Cartel’ crooner questioned why anyone would expect him to hire different houses for his videos when he owns a beautiful property that suits his artistic needs.
He suggested that fans would only use such hired spaces as ammunition to ridicule him, something he is unwilling to entertain.
“Some are like, Why are you shooting music videos in your house? You need to change locations and be serious.’ What do you think I built this house for?” He asked.
Khaligraph also defended his track record, reminding the public that he has shot high-end music videos across the world, including in South Africa, the United States, and Nigeria.
According to him, filming at home is a personal preference and not a limitation of budget or creativity.
“Do you want me to hire a house just so you can disrespect me? I have filmed videos in many places all over the world—South Africa, America, Nigeria, everywhere. Do you think I will let you take my money? No way.”
The rapper then called on those offering unwarranted guidance to redirect their energy to their own families and affairs, saying that he and his camp are doing just fine.
Without mincing words, Khaligraph insisted that he owes no one an explanation and will continue to shoot his content where and how he chooses.
“How about you use that advice on your own family? We are fine here. Use it; it will trickle down. We are all good. Think about that.”
