A bizarre incident unfolded at Makupa Police Station after a young man, reportedly arrested as a person of interest in a case involving the theft of two goats, suddenly lost his ability to speak and began bleating like a goat during interrogation.

In a video that started circulating on social media on Saturday, June 28, 2025, police officers are heard trying to interrogate the man but finding it hard as he could not speak.

Voices of officers can be heard asking him his tribe and residence, with one of the officers confirming what else had been reportedly stolen by the man apart from the two goats.

According to the video, the man appears calm and responsive. However, things took a strange turn when he was asked to explain how he came into possession of the goats, his name, when he went to Mombasa, his tribe, and his residence.

Crowing and bleating

While responding to the question about his name, the man first crows like a rooster before he starts bleating in subsequent questions.

Jina ni nani?“, a female officer is heard asking. A male officer then takes over to enquire about the crime committed, only for the man to bleat.

Makosa ni nini? ….Ulikuja Mombasa lini…..wewe ni kabila gani….nyumbani ni wapi… Uliiba wapi, na mbuzi iko wapi tuwarudishie?” the officers are heard asking, but the man bleats like a goat and crows like a rooster while responding to the questions.

Machakos incident

However, this is not an isolated incident. In March 2023, attendees at the Machakos law courts were treated to a shock after a woman started bleating like a goat.

Mary Mbithi, who was facing a murder case in court, was scheduled to appear for mention hours before the incident.

Attendees at the Machakos law courts were on Wednesday treated to a shock after a woman started bleating like a goat.

She had attended the court where she was expected to testify before Judge Margaret Muigai when the incident happened.
