A woman selling her vegetables beside a large shop has narrated how a large number of hooligans invaded a large shop on Wednesday afternoon.
“A large group of men came from the side of Muthurwa. They had just gone out to fight the police. He told SPM Buzz.
He narrated that the hooligans later approached him and the other women who were selling vegetables on the road, and told them to move because they wanted to enter the big store.
“They told us to move. I told my colleague we were in danger. They were too many. He remembered.
The woman said the robbers overwhelmed the police when they raided a large shop with nearby booths.
“We went to hide with the manager on the top floor under the table, but the bandits also came to where we were, as they tried to get into the big store from the ceiling. So again, we left and went to hide in the toilet,” He narrated.
“We hid in the toilet because they told us ‘if you continue to stay there, we will fall on you’,” he added.
The old vegetable vendor claimed he did not see the police trying to end the looting, adding that he watched all going on while he was hiding.
“I also lost some stocks on melee. They stole my grapes, this peas you see scattered around is mine. But I didn’t see anyone being beaten by the police or killed as it was alleged. No,” he added.
He said all of this happened around 12:00 pm, adding that he had difficulty returning home due to fragile conditions.

Government officials visit the OTC to evaluate the damage
On Thursday, government officials led by the Minister of Interior Kipchumba Murkomen And the Inspector General of Police visited the OTC to assess the damage left by the looters.
According to a statement by the Police Force in the country, the officers listened to sadness from traders and traders who suffered severe losses due to severe looting and damage.
In a meeting with the media held later in the Harambee Hall, Murkomen strongly criticized the damage witnessed in various parts of the country.
He called the criminals who, according to him, were under the guise of peaceful protests, introduced a wave of violence, looting, sexual abuse, and destruction.

This comes a few hours after the Quickmart main store issued a statement explaining what happened after rumors emerged on social networks, claiming a bad discovery.

However, the main store explained that it was taking the necessary steps to ensure that operations in its two affected stores return to its normal state.
