Lagat’s name was closely linked to Ojwang’s death after IG Douglas Kanja Revealing that his deputy complaint to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) led Ojwang to be arrested.

Did IPOa blame Dig Eliud Lagat?

Ojwang was arrested and then transported to Nairobi Police Station, where he faced torture that led to his sudden death.

Several people, including police officers, recorded their information and IPOA about the death of the blogger.

On Monday, June 23, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) issued a statement about the Ojwang murder investigation at the Police Station.

In the update, the DPP approved the murder charges against six people: Samson Kiprotich Talaam, James Mukhwana, Peter Kimani, John Ngige Gitau, Gin Ammitou Abwao and Brian Mwaniki Njue.

However, on Tuesday, June 24, reports emerged on social networks claiming that IPOA removed Lagat any offenses in the Ojwang massacre.

Blogger Cyrian Nyakundi shared a post claiming that IPOA had found a deputy police chief who had no case to answer.

“IPOA says that Eliud Lagat has no case to answer?” Nyakundi put in the pool.

Nyakundi’s post created different emotions from Kenyans, others asking for IPOA to appear and clean the air.

IPOA quickly responded to Nyakundi’s allegations, saying they had not issued any report to clean up Lagat.

“No. IPOA has not provided such information,” IPOA said.

Meanwhile, the six suspects were brought before Kibera court judge Diana Kavedza on Tuesday, June 24, in which they were formally charged with murder.

After prayer, each of the suspects denied planning and killing the famous blogger.

Advocate Danstan Omari He asked for bail, and asked the court to comply with the appropriate conditions.

However, the prosecution, led by State Attorney Victor Owiti, vehemently opposed the defense’s request, citing basic reasons.

In his argument, Owiti asked the judge to consider the fact that the alleged offense by the six suspects has the death penalty.
