Kenyan YouTuber and car reviewer 2Mbili has caused a stir after sharing a screengrab from a video call with Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz.
The image, posted on Instagram on Monday, June 23, 2025, ignited speculation about a possible collaboration or project between the two.
The screengrab showed the two artistes engaged in conversation, though no explicit details were revealed regarding the nature or scope of their discussion.
The timing of the video has prompted widespread suggestions that a joint project may be in the pipeline, signalling an exciting cross-border venture.
2Mbili did not confirm nor deny the rumours but left many anticipating a potential announcement.
However, he posted the dates, 10/10/2025, indicating that whatever they discussed is scheduled to drop or take place on that day.
Aside from the dates, he also wrote “confirmed” on the post, revealing that he had been seeking confirmation from the renowned Tanzanian Bongo Flava icon.
The screengrab he shared of their video call showed him laughing while appearing in the bottom section of Diamond’s video frame, while Diamond appeared on the larger section of the phone screen, smiling back.
A sense of camaraderie was evident between the two artistes, reflected through their warm smiles.

East or west
At the same time, 2Mbili, while sharing the screenshot of his video call with Diamond Platnumz, expressed joy at how God continues to grant him success.
He then stirred more buzz after heading to his Instagram stories to ask whether his next project should feature an artiste from East or West Africa.
He tagged the same date mentioned in the Diamond post, prompting a flood of comments as many tried to guess what project was being prepared.
It is worth noting, however, that Diamond is currently in the United Kingdom, where he has been performing live shows. This suggests that the conversation may have taken place while he was still there or shortly thereafter.
Tanzanian favorite
2Mbili has become a household name in the Samia Suluhu Hassan-led Swahili-speaking nation, thanks to his witty content, which has opened doors to interviews with some of Tanzania’s biggest artistes.
After meeting Mbosso, Baba Levo and visiting the Wasafi studios in 2024, he was most recently treated to a VIP hangout by Tanzania’s self-proclaimed billionaire and social media influencer Godlove Mwakibete, alias Chief Godlove, who also gifted him money.
In a post on Friday, April 11, 2025, he issued a heartfelt message of appreciation to Chief Godlove.
In the post where he displayed the US dollars he had received from Godlove, 2Mbili lauded the self-proclaimed billionaire, saying he had received a huge amount from him and had been welcomed so warmly that he felt it might be time for him to relocate to Tanzania.
According to him, Godlove, who enjoys a close friendship with President Samia Suluhu, should consider initiating conversations with the head of state so that he may be granted citizenship in the Swahili-speaking nation.
“Thank you so much, Chief Godlove, for all this money… Now, speak to Mama Samia so that I can be given citizenship. I have been Kenyan for 32 years. It is time for a change. Anyway, guys, head over to my channel and enjoy my first visit to Chief’s episode,” he shared.

Furthermore, 2 Mbili insisted that he had drawn immense inspiration from Godlove and remarked that he is now contemplating vying for a Member of County Assembly seat in the country.
He maintained that he was in disbelief that the millionaire, who also commands a significant presence on social media, had accepted the invitation to appear on his YouTube channel and even went as far as allowing him to tour his Tanzanian mansion.
On that note, he asserted that he would now be making regular visits to the country and even disclosed that he had picked up the Swahili accent.
“Yesterday I met Chief, and right now I do not even know how I feel. I feel like I could run for MCA because of Chief Godlove. If this is how things are with you, then I will be in Tanzania every week. He has even sold me his accent—now all that is left is for me to choose a team, I am not sure whether to support Yanga or Simba,” he said.
