Peter Macharia left home on the day of the tragedy on June 25, 2024, to join his fellow youths in a protest in Nairobi against the 2024 financial bill.
However, the 27 -year -old did not return and leave his mother, Alice Wambui, with sadness and anxiety.
“We waited until evening, but he did not return home. My friends and I went to City Mochari but we did not see him. They directed us to find him at Kenyatta National Hospital,” Said Wambui.
Was Peter Macharia treated at Kenyatta Hospital?
The sad mother said that when they arrived at the hospital, they were played as a farewell as they were told to return to the city.
At the hospital, Wambui was shown documents showing that Peter was treated with a shooting injury and allowed to return home.
“They said he had a small shooting injury and he was a 27 -year -old boy. When we asked more, they said they were not allowed to provide further information,” Said Wambui.
Having not found his son, Wambui said since June 25, 2024, he has been looking for him daily.
“I lost hope because even that day, we all got sick at home,” He said.
He lost his work life and now he cannot take good care of his sons.
On the first day of Peter’s disappearance, Wambui, who was a housekeeping worker in Nairobi, spent a portion of the tax money he collected for a fare to find his son in the city.
That resulted in his dismissal.
“No work. You wake up every morning looking for work. Sometimes I find it, sometimes no. Sometimes I get a two -day job. It’s not enough because after feeding a family, I can’t even pay taxes,” He said.
One Nairobi mother requests the President Ruto Help
Wambui said that he would like to be informed that his son had died, in order to find peace instead of continuing to suffer and seek.
He asked for help from President William Ruto to help him find his son, saying that if Peter was kidnapped, then those who took him to let him return home.

What does the Kenyan national human rights commission say?
Assistant Director of the National Human Rights Commission (KNCHR), Martin Pepela, said that they are working to make sure families find their loved ones – whether alive or late – to close the page.
“That is the only measure of justice for the family, even if it is difficult to implement,” Said Pepela.
He explained that there has been an increased increase in kidnapping cases and the disappearance of people, which raises serious fears about the allegations of government officials using unidentified vehicles and people wearing hats to hide their faces to hunt young people.
“We are well aware that there is a voluntary protocol on the disappearance, and the commission believes that if Kenya approves it, it can help raise awareness of security forces and the public about the seriousness of this as a serious human rights violation,” he added.

In other news, TUKO.co.ke reported that Emmanuel Mukuria’s family gathered at the AIC Kisaine church in the chalk area to pray for him to return home.
Mukuria was among the 17 young men who lost during the peak of protest against the 2024 financial bill and has never been found again.
His sad mother, Susan Wangechi, said that her son was registered in the Industrial Area prison in the name of Kevin, but has never been able to find her since that day.
