Her death

Beth Wahito, a fourth-term nominated MCA, died on the spot after her private vehicle was struck by a bus near the Naivasha-Kinangop junction at around 1:00 am.

The bus was en route to Western Kenya when the collision occurred, cutting short her life, while several bus passengers sustained minor injuries and were treated and discharged at Naivasha Sub-County Hospital.

Eulogised

Other leaders also eulogised Beth Wahito as a transformative leader in the country. Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano described the deceased as a woman whose public life was defined by service, courage, and a deep sense of duty to her community.

Wahito rose through the ranks of leadership with quiet strength and an unwavering commitment to the people. Her voice in the Assembly reflected the values of compassion, justice, and representation, especially for the underserved.

Miano added that the late was part of the generation of women who paved the way in public leadership, reminding the nation that women can lead with both firmness and grace.

He noted that she was returning home after attending a budget committee meeting in Naivasha.

“As a county, we have lost one of the most dedicated MCAs and on behalf of the assembly, we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family,” Nyaga said.
