Senior police officers from Nyanza area have visited the home of the killed teacher and blogger, Albert Ojwang, to comfort his sad family following his death at police in Nairobi.

The officers, led by the Nyanza Regional Police Commander, Prosecutor Nyamohanga, gathered at the family’s residence in Kakoth village, Kikwanyo, Kwakyo Sub -County in East Rachuonyyo, where they gave relief and words of comfort to the bereaved.

“We have come here on behalf of the National Police Service to comfort this family and show that we are sharing their agony. Albert’s death has affected many, and we would like to assure you that we are committed to ensuring justice is done,” Said Nyamohanga.

The visit was also accompanied by the contribution of various foods to help the family during this mourning during the welcome.

“We understand that many people have been pouring here every day since this sad event. he added.

Meshack Ojwang, the father of the deceased, has been welcoming visitors since reports of Albert’s death were announced, with friends, relatives, and touching citizens coming out in large numbers, many of whom carry food in solidarity.

Albert’s shocking death inside a police station in Nairobi has sparked public outrage, with a call for accountability and transparency from security forces.

Human rights groups and citizens collectively want a thorough investigation into the circumstances of his death.

Ojwang was arrested in Homa Bay and later transferred to Nairobi, where he was brought to the police station on the evening of June 7.

However, in the morning hours of June 8, officials found him unnoticed in the cells.

The subsequent corpses showed that he suffered severe injuries related to severe strokes, including head injuries, internal bleeding, and symptoms of strokes in the neck.

Following public outrage, Kaja announced the suspension of some officers, including the station commander, the officer at the time, and who served at the information desk.

At the same time, IG apologized to the nation for the misconception issued by the police, which indicated that Ojwang committed suicide.
