The blogger was killed in a police station a few hours after he was arrested on charges of posting a delegation to the name of Deputy Inspector General of Police Eliud Lagat on X.
Kenyans and his family have been demanding that all the perpetrators of the murder be arrested and taken to court.
The Independent Police Authority (IPOA) has arrested several suspects, including the OCS of the Police Station, Samson Talam.
At present, the Ojwang family has revealed that it has no plans to bury the famous blogger until justice is achieved. Speaking at their home on Tuesday, June 18, family spokesman Herman Ouko said that the funeral date was not accepted.
“The date is unknown. But as a family, we are waiting for information from Nairobi about ongoing investigations. Said Ouko.
Ouko explained that family pain has increased further following Dig Lagat’s statement to withdraw from work.
The family has emphasized that what is needed is true accountability and not the symbolic steps, and they are ready to wait at any time until the parties are held accountable.
“To say that he has resigned or has left the office for a while is not something to celebrate or discuss as a family. As we said, everything is in the hands of the government. We are waiting for an investigation to show the people involved,” he added.
